Adults-only policy

Last reviewed 20 October 2026

Intended readership

The editorial guides are intended for adults aged 18 or older. Access only if you meet that threshold and may lawfully access the material where you live. Snapchat's own eligibility rules are separate from this publication's readership policy.

The confirmation notice

The website asks visitors to confirm that they are adults. Confirmation is stored locally in the browser. It is a declaration, not an identity check or an assurance that every visitor's age has been independently verified.

Clear boundaries

Never request, send, save or distribute nude or sexually explicit material involving anyone under 18. Do not continue an adult exchange when age is uncertain. Sexual exploitation, coercion and distribution without consent are not acceptable.

Support is still available

If you are under 18 and need help with threats or image abuse, use Snap's official reporting resources or seek support from a trusted adult. This educational website is not an emergency or reporting service.

Platform rules

Being an adult does not override a platform's content rules. Read Snap's current sexual-content policy for the rules applying to Snapchat.
